|AD| Mother's Day Gift Guide

Wednesday, March 13, 2019

Mother's Day is coming up on 31st March 2019 here in the UK. I always love Mother's Day, the kids always go all out, making me handmade cards and letters and I get to spend the whole day with my favourite people. It is also a lovely day to show appreciation to the mother's or mother figures in your life. I have been working with a few different brands to put together a gift guide full of thoughtful gifts for your loved ones. I hope it gives you inspiration to spoil them.

This beautiful hummingbird necklace from Jana Reinhardt symbolises enjoying life and lightness of being. It was handmade in the UK by a small team of goldsmiths and the hummingbird is hand carved. It is a lovely quality piece of jewellery and the perfect gift for any Mum this Mother's Day. It is certainly something they can treasure forever. Prices start from £85 for Sterling Silver but you can also purchase in a range of different colours and metals. The Hummingbird necklace is available to buy from www.janareinhardt.com

Guylian are one of my favourite luxury chocolate brands and they are a very reasonable price for the quality. The Guylian praline seashells are made from the finest, hand selected Mediterranean hazelnuts, which are roasted and caramelised to perfection before being blended with premium Belgian chocolate. They really taste as good as they look! You can purchase Guylian chocolates in most major supermarkets.

Maybe you feel like your Mum deserves some time to relax and pamper herself? Perhaps you could treat her to an experience voucher from Red Letter Days. You could choose from a blissful spa day for two, afternoon tea for two or maybe wine tasting or chocolate making would be more her 'thing'. There are so many things to choose from with locations all over the UK. I am personally looking forward to being pampered at my local Bannatyne spa this week thanks to Red Letter Days. I will share more about this soon!

I don't drink alcohol often but when I do, I am partial to a bit of wine or gin. I am currently trying to eat and drink healthier and I discovered the Botonique brand. Botonique is a unique British made natural, dry, sparkling non-alcoholic drink. It contains the beneficial elements of Prelixir®, a unique blend of vitamins, minerals and amino acids which alcohol is typically known to deplete. This means that it also has anti-oxidising, anti-inflammatory, alkalising, detoxifying and hydrating benefits. Botonique doesn't include any added sugars, sweeteners, flavours or preservatives and comes in two different flavours; crisp dry white and blush. It is available to buy at botonique.com or you can visit the website to find local stockists.

If your Mum is more of a traditional wine lover then maybe Three Mills would make the perfect gift for her? They come in three different flavours, juicy & smooth Reserve Red, fruity & zesty Reserve White and smooth and fruity Reserve Rose, all of which are award winning wines. There is a flavour for everyone and best of all they are widely available and are inexpensive. Three Mills wines are available to buy at Asda and B&M stores across the UK.

I know shoes are a passion of mine. I have way more than I need but I love how a good pair of shoes can finish off any outfit. I am actually in love with these Suede Comfort Mules from Lands End. They are feminine, pretty and the colour is gorgeous. I cannot wait for the warm weather to return so I can wear them out and about. They would make a great gift for mothers as they are both stylish and practical. They are so comfortable that it would be like wearing slippers outdoors.

As a Mum it is so easy to fill yourself with self-doubt and guilt for not being 'perfect' but who wants to be perfect? If you are waking up each day and giving your child everything you possibly can then you are certainly 'Rocking The Mama Life!'. Motherhood is a pretty big club and I love seeing that embraced with positive female slogans. This tee from Ada & Alfred would make a lovely gift for any Mum who you feel is rocking the mama life. It is a great way to show them that you notice and appreciate them. It costs £14 and is available in a choice of colours. They also sell lots of other empowering items for Mum's (and daughters), I need to get myself the 'Motherhoodie' at some point.
