We're Going On A Bear Hunt- Belgrade Theatre Coventry

Wednesday, May 31, 2017

On Tuesday, I took the kids along to the first showing of We're Going On A Bear Hunt at Belgrade Theatre in Coventry. The show, which is on for just 5 days, is based on Michael Rosen's award winning book loved by families all over the world.

The show brings music, laughter, dancing, puppetry, paints, water, mud and a big scary bear to the stage for everyone to enjoy. The family find themselves on a quest to find a bear, they wade through gigantic swishy swashy grass, a splishy splashy river and thick oozy, squelchy mud.

'I am going to Blog On' Icebreaker!

Tuesday, May 16, 2017

This weekend I will be headed to Manchester to Blog On MSI, my absolute favourite blog conference! I thought that this year I would actually join in the icebreaker linky and tell you all a little more about myself. So here I am answering some weird and wonderful questions...

A Day Trip to Palma In Photographs

Monday, May 08, 2017

Back in October, Me and Hannah went on a well deserved child-free girls holiday. We booked 5 days in Alcudia and tried to make the most of every single day. On one of these days we signed up to a 'Blanket Trip' as it was offered as a 'Free Trip' by Thomson. Now I had no idea what one of these blanket trips was but it offered us transport to Palma for half a day which sounded perfect!

Turns out a blanket trip involves giving away the other half of your day to a sales team trying to sell you the world's most expensive bedding. Thankfully I am good at sticking to my guns and not buying expensive things I don't need and I got to spend a lovely warm sunny morning in Palma for free!

Beauty & The Beast Book Of The Film

Sunday, May 07, 2017

Gracie has always been a big fan of books, something she has obviously inherited from me. We love to read together and have recently started to read chapter books together. These are books that are slightly too difficult for her to read by herself, yet they are perfect for her imagination and ability to take in the story. It also gives us a nice way to enjoy spending time together without the little ones. We had both been really looking forward to the release of the new Beauty & The Beast live action movie and so she was really excited when the 'Book of the Film' dropped through the door for us to read together.

The storyline isn't far off that of the original Disney's Beauty & The Beast that everyone knows and loves. There are a few differences which make the story a bit more adaptable to the big screen. The characters are exactly how you remember them and it makes for quite a nostalgic read. There is only so much I can say without giving spoilers for both the book and movie but I can say it is a lovely read and both me and Gracie really enjoyed reading it together. It would definitely make a great gift for any young bookworm.

Be Breast Aware Whatever Your Age

Thursday, May 04, 2017

I recently visited my Doctor after finding a strange lump on my breast. As someone with major self-confidence issues and social anxiety, just attending a simple Dr's appointment and getting my boobs out for someone to look at was hugely scary. The Dr said she didn't think it felt like anything to worry about but the fact that there was obvious tissue change and an increase in pains in that one breast meant it was a good idea to be referred for a breast clinic appointment.

10 things that make me happy

Tuesday, May 02, 2017

My lovely friend Kate from Family Fever tagged me in a post about the 10 things that make her happy, asking me to do the same. There are so many little things that make me happy in life so it is hard to narrow it down to just 10 but I will give it a good go! In no particular order...

1. The sea. I have always been a fan of beaches and simply just being by the ocean. There is something about it that makes me feel instantly calm and almost at home. I could listen to the waves all day and especially like walks on the beach in the early morning or at night when there is no one else around and you can hear nothing but the sea.
