Review: Cosatto Zoomi Carseat Magic Unicorn

Tuesday, October 04, 2016

Elsie finally grew out of her infant carseat back in July at almost 2 years old. I wanted to ensure that she moved into a comfortable and safe carseat for the next stage. After speaking to Cosatto about their latest carseat ranges at The Baby Show, they recommended the new Zoomi carseat with the 5 point plus Anti-Escape System. If I wasn't sold already, they had a Unicorn print set to be released shortly afterwards!

The brand new Cosatto Anti-Escape system gives carseat harnesses a whole new level of security. I remember being so worried about Zach when he was Elsie's age as he could get his arms out of any harness and would lean forward in his seat waving his arms around. Thankfully he grew out of this but it was something I wanted to avoid with Elsie. I actually put off writing this review as I wanted to see if she would attempt to escape once the novelty of having a new seat wore off. She has now been using the seat for about 10 weeks and not once has she managed to get her arms out! The best thing about the Anti-escape system is that if you were to be caught in an accident of any kind, the seatbelt is removed the exact same way as other seats. The anti-escape doesn't get in the way or bring an extra fiddly bit to undo like some gadgets on the market which can be bought for this purpose. This means you can get your child out quickly and safely in the event of an emergency.

Here are some of the finer points and features taken from the Cosatto website;

  • Suitable from 9kg to 36kg
  • Group 1-2-3
  • Easy to install
  • Forward facing
  • Universal fitting in both front and rear seats
  • 5 point safety harness with quick release buckle
  • Anti-Escape system
  • Compatible with standard 3 point seat belts
  • Remove harness to convert into booster seat
  • height adjustable head rest
  • comfy padded arm rest
  • 2 part reversible seat liner which grows with your child
  • removable and washable seat covers
  • converts to a highback booster seat for when child gets older
  • FREE tummy and chest pads
  • FREE 4 year guarantee (UK & Ireland only)

Both Gracie and Zach also have carseats from Cosatto and their sister company Koochi. I find that these seats make it possible to have three carseats in the back of the car, as they are quite slim rather than bulky, ensuring that all three children are seated safely and securely at all times. They are fantastic value for money. The Zoomi carseat can be converted to a high back booster when your child is big enough to go up a stage, meaning that the carseat is actually suitable for your child for a number of years. The Zoomi costs £130 making it a very affordable option especially with the 4 year guarantee.

They come in some lovely, unique, funky prints to suit your child's personality. I love the Magic Unicorn Range it is so pretty and also really appeals to the kids as much as the adults! I would totally love my whole car interior to be Unicorn print! I am really impressed with the Zoomi carseats and the improvements that have been made with the harness for increased safety. That was my only concern with our previous carseats and they have dealt with it really well. I haven't found any negative points for the seat yet and I am hoping it stays that way!

The Cosatto Zoomi in Unicorn Magic is available to Pre-order here. Or is available in other colour-ways now also on the Cosatto website.
