Review: Woolovers Cashmere/Merino Poncho

Wednesday, April 20, 2016

A few weeks back, I was sent a lovely Women's Poncho/shrug from Woolovers. The poncho/shrug is a 30% cashmere, 70% merino wool blend. This means that unlike many wool products, it can be thrown in the washing machine without loosing shape or shrinking.

As a Mum who has to do the washing for a family of five, I can be totally honest and say I avoid buying anything that needs hand washing. I like that I can chuck all of my washing in the machine before putting most of it in the tumble dryer then leave any delicates on a small clothes airer. That way I don't have washing lying around everywhere and I can get it all put away nice and quick.

Anyway, I wore the poncho a few times before washing. There are actually many ways to wear and style it, I love that it is such a versatile piece and can be worn differently to suit your personal style. I like to wear it as either a poncho or cape style but it can also be used as a cardi, shrug, waistcoat, bandana, headscarf or scarf. After a few wears I got caught in a rainstorm where it got soaked and so I threw it straight in the washing machine on a wool cycle, as recommended on the washing label, then hung it to dry on the airer.

After being washed and dried, the wool was just as soft as before and there wasn't a crease in sight! I do find it creases very easily whilst being worn though. As well as being soft, it is very comfortable and is clearly great quality.
