Warwick Castle: Horrible Histories Wicked Warwick #TheWFactor

Sunday, May 31, 2015

On Wednesday, we went to Warwick Castle to see their Horrible Histories Wicked Warwick Live stage show and The W Factor auditions. Warwick Castle is my all time favourite castle to visit and I find the history fascinating. My favourite era being The War of the Roses. The Wicked Warwick Live stage show picked fun at all the important past owners and residents of Warwick Castle and I have to say not only did the kids find it hilarious but I rather enjoyed it too! The stage show is on twice every day until 6th September so you have plenty of time to catch it!

Review: Tara Binns: Eagle Eyed Pilot

Saturday, May 30, 2015

I recently received an email telling me about a brand new series of books which was designed to inspire young girls and raise their aspirations. Tara Binns is the main character in these stories and when she runs around her old costume box in the attic she is transported into a costume she wouldn't normally choose. With each different costume comes an exciting adventure to go with it. The Tara Binns books aim to go against gender stereotyping and introduce a positive role model that is a far cry away from the princesses and fairies that usually dominate girls books.

Elsie Updates

Elsie At 9 Months!

Thursday, May 28, 2015

Yesterday Elsie turned 9 months old! I was hoping to write this yesterday but after a long day out at Warwick Castle we were all super tired and I din't know where to start! Anyway, wow 9 whole months, 3/4 of a year, yet I still find myself clinging onto her being my baby.

This month Elsie has got stronger and stronger. She can sit unaided for a long time happily playing now and has learnt to get herself around the room by shuffling rather than crawling. She is however attempting to lift herself off the ground and finding herself doing what I like to call baby push ups!

Not only has she had exciting developments, but Elsie has been on her first ever holiday this month. Whilst on holiday she went swimming and went on the beach for the first time too! It was an action packed week and we all had lots of fun. Elsie loved having us all around at once and having constant attention. She also loved sitting on the dance floor watching the children dancing in the evenings which was really cute. Oh and she had a few days of super frizzy hair too, I am sure she will thank me for the photos in years to come.

Review: Polar Frost Pain Relieving Gel

Thursday, May 28, 2015

As you may have heard many times now, I am making an effort to get fit and healthy. On of the problems that comes with exercising regularly for the first time in years is that my body is no longer used to it and I am suddenly getting all sorts of pains in muscles I didn't even know I had! I was sent some samples of Polar Frost pain relieving gel to test out on my post-workout pains.

Week 7 Weigh In

Wednesday, May 27, 2015

So I started my Slimfast Challenge last Friday and am proud to say I have stuck to it and haven't found it as difficult as I thought. With having two of my three meals and a range of snacks ready in the house ready I only have to plan one healthy meal a day and I am not snacking on unhealthy food in the evenings once the kids go to bed. I am actually finding it pretty easy and manage to save one or two snacks until the evening which is when I usually struggle with dieting. I will say I need to get back into drinking more water as I have noticed I am drinking just 500ml a day which is not nearly enough.

Week Six Weigh In

Saturday, May 23, 2015

You may know I have been on holiday, I didn't weigh while I was away and so will resume now. Whilst away I did indulge in eating lots of yummy food and put on almost 5lbs! So I now have to lose those pounds again but I don't regret it. I had a lovely holiday and feel great.

This week I found myself wearing the same clothes as I did in the photo in my first post of my weight loss journey and although I have said many times that I couldn't see a physical difference in myself, I was amazed looking in the mirror. There really is a huge difference in my body already!

Thomas the Tank Engine has always been a family favourite. For as long as I remember it has been on the television. Me and my brother watched it when we were younger and now my children also enjoy the new version. There is so much to buy merchandise wise and Zach has been lucky enough to receive a few new Thomas & Friends toys to review.

Review: Parragon Books 'Slide and See: Princess and the Pea'

Friday, May 01, 2015

'Slide and See: The Princess and the Pea' is one of Gracie's new favourite books. Gracie is a complete bookworm and loves reading new stories. I remember reading The Princess and the Pea back when I was a child and always loved the story. This book is a cute adaptation of the classic tale.

Once upon a time, there was a lonely prince who longed to find the princess of his dreams. Discover what happened when a girl claiming to be a princess knocked on the palace door...
