25 Weeks Pregnant

Wednesday, May 21, 2014

Have you ever felt like you are going through a pregnancy completely alone? It seems like the novelty of having a baby wore off a long time ago for everyone but me. Is this just normal when you have more than one already? It's certainly a different feeling to a first baby when it's all people want to talk about! I've found the last week or so a struggle especially since last weekends stress of packing for the holiday. I feel like I'm doing everything alone with no help or support. I don't know if it's my hormones or whether it's something I just need to get used to. Our trip to the Baby Show this weekend was lovely, for a whole day I felt like we were making plans for the baby altogether for once but things soon went back to normality when we got home. It is making me feel very stressed I have so much to do to prepare for this baby and I just don't know how to start or what I am actually doing most of the time.

The pains have been pretty bad again lately. At times I've had trouble even standing straight or walking. Not sure if this is normal for a third pregnancy? My midwife has reassured me it's just baby moving into awkward positions and nothing to worry about. I don't think we will ever know what is 'normal' no matter how many pregnancies we have, every pregnancy seems so completely different plus after the first time you also have others to run about after and care for so looking after yourself and resting is out of the question!

Things are not all bad though, baby has been kicking and moving a lot which is such a reassuring feeling whenever I feel down. In fact she's sending lots of big kicks my way while I'm writing this! The Sunshine has also been very nice I'm glad we've got a bit of sun nice and early this year as I'm sure I won't enjoy it half as much when I'm huge and uncomfortable. I've spent a lot of time playing in the Garden with the kids this week which has been lovely, it'll be the first summer in our new house and with the new arrival coming late summer I know all the pain will be more than worth it.

This next week my plan is to do lots more organising and decluttering to get my room ready for baby and so I can decide what else I need to buy in advance as I know I have so much stuff already! I'm hoping this will help me de-stress a bit and stop worrying about everything.

I would love some tips on baby essentials to buy before baby arrives? What were your must-haves?

  1. Oh Carly I'm so sorry to hear that you feel like you are alone. Although I'm not there in person, I'm excited for you online if that helps?! It's so enjoyable going through clothes for a littles one arrival, isn't it? Have you any ideas for a 'coming home' outfit yet?
