Fathers Day Special Review: Funky Giraffe Bibs

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

We were recently sent some Father's Day themed Funky Giraffe Bibs to review. We received a set of two lovely bibs with different Daddy slogans on them. The first, a red one with the slogan 'Daddies are cool, but mummies rule' and the second, a green bib with the slogan 'Daddy's Little Princess' underneath a crown motif.

Funky Giraffe Bibs are not your average bib. They were the brainchild of a professional fashion designer after becoming a mother for the first time. She found herself unimpressed with the bibs on offer so decided to create her own style of bibs that was not only fashionable but practical, affordable and comfortable too. All Funky Giraffe Bibs are made from sustainable fabrics and soft cotton.

The bibs have two sets of popper fastenings to give them a more snuggly fit. One thing I really dislike about some cheaper alternatives is when you put a bib on your baby to find it is too big and doesn't really serve it's purpose leaving baby's clothes covered in milk or dribble. When I went to use the bib on Zach for the first time I realised how lovely and soft it felt, it felt so luxurious and made me so nervous to use it incase we ruined it! Anyway I put the bib on and fastened it on the tightest setting for Zach so it was a nice snug fit for his little neck. Obviously I put the 'daddies are cool, but mummies rule' bib on him. I dont think Daddy would appreciate the 'Daddy's Little Princess' on his boy so that one is being given to a friends little girl. I can honestly say I would be very happy with one of these as a present so hopefully they will too. (The bibs are not sold in a set I was just sent these two for review). I love the cool slogans and funky patterns across the range they are a great way of brightening up any outfit!

For me, I love to dress my kids in stylish clothes and always think its a shame when they are teething to cover up their lovely clothes with a plain bib. Zach seems to have been teething forever and still with no signs of any teeth yet. He is dribbling constantly and with the skin problems he has already I don't want to make it any worse with him getting dribble rash too. This means he is constantly wearing bibs at the minute to try and keep the area dry. These bibs are perfect for catching dribble without soaking through no matter how much they drool, whilst the soft cotton is great for wiping away moisture from the skin reducing any chance of skin irritation.

Importantly, the bibs wash great although the one I have been using is red I had no problem with the colour running or fading and the fabric still felt as soft as it did before it went in.

These super stylish bibs come in a range of different styles and patterns as well as the slogan bibs. My personal favourites are the bandana bibs which start at just £1.98. They are also expanding into a range of new products including; messy bibs, babygrows romper suits and extra large bibs (these bibs are ideal for adults or children with special needs). The bibs we were sent have a RRP of £4.50 but are fantastic value for money.

If you keep an eye out on the blog I will have a competition for your chance to win some bibs just in time for Father's day.

We were sent the bibs featured in this post free for review but all opinions are my own.
