Cornish Daisy: Dribble bib review

Thursday, February 07, 2013

The past few weeks Zach's been suffering with his teething. No signs of anything breaking through yet but his gums are sore and he's dribbling non stop! The thing I hate most when a baby is dribbling is when their clothes soak right through even when wearing there feeding bib. I don't like the thought of a baby sitting in damp clothing. Luckily the lovely people at Cornish Daisy sent us one of their beautiful handmade dribble bibs to try out.

The bibs are handmade in Cornwall using cotton interlock for the front surface and high quality polyester fleece for the backing. Cornish Daisy strive to source only UK manufactured fabrics whenever possible to lower the environmental impact of their bibs.

We were sent a springtime stripes bib which has light green and white stripes. I was so excited when the package dropped through the letterbox. The bib was lovingly wrapped in tissue paper, which automatically had Gracie excited to help open 'mummy's present'. Unfortunately I didn't get chance to take a picture of how it was wrapped as it was ripped straight open! My first impression was that the bib was lovely and soft, the pattern was vibrant and stylish and I just couldn't wait to try it out. I immediately popped the bib onto Zach which was easily fastened using the poppers at the back.

As if he knew what we were doing, as soon as the bib went on the dribbling started. I have to say I didnt think the bib would work, I expected soaked clothes within the hour. However, I was pleasantly surprised when a few hours later the bib was slightly damp on top but hadnt soaked through at all and the bib was absorbing the dribble that usually sits on his chin until I wipe it.
One thing about the Cornish Daisy dribble bib is that it looks great. I find the average feeding bib looks boring which isn't so bad around the house, but I love to make the kids look cute and stylish whenever we go out. The bibs tend to look great with any outfit rather than covering them up with a plain bib. You can even get them personalised adding a childs name either for your own child or as a gift for any friends new babies.
Of course something that is very important to mums is whether an item washes well. Its great having something that looks good but if it fades or loses it's soft feeling after being washed then it can be very disappointing. I've used this bib a lot and washed it around 6 times since we received it and i'm happy to say its still as good as new! I will definitely be buying more very soon and we also have our eye on some of the Cornish Daisy blankets on the website.

I was sent the product free of charge for review but all views and opinions are my own.
